This game is so much fun it currently is my only fitness routine. Maybe its because it brings out the competitive streak in me, but I cannot stop playing until I have finished enough steps to build a big item like a boutique or one of the suspension bridges. The competition to get “just one more” item created or to finish finding all the rainbow spheres before I quit for the night really keeps me walking! Last night I walked 4.3 miles and 6.1 the night before that and the time seemed to just fly by!
I use the nunchuck and wii-mote to keep track of how many steps I’m taking. I haven’t tried the Wii Fit board or the DDR mat so just refer to other reviews for info on that. Sometimes I will get the problem where the hand/pointer icon keeps sliding across the screen in a diagonal way. I’ve found that unplugging the nunchuk and plugging it back in to the wii-mote helps stop this.
To give the game more intensity, I use my Reebok step and do a basic step in time to the music on the songs that are lower than 130 - 135 beats per minute. I was surprised at how much doing that upped the intensity for me. Now I just need to edit the play list so I can alternate faster songs with slower songs….my own self styled interval training!.”
